That’s all there is to yoga. Show up. Pay attention. Don’t be attached. Over and over.
You may be sitting still. You may be standing on your head. You may be executing a challenging vinyasa flow. But if you’re making the effort to realize your intention (tapas), if you’re observing the results of your effort (svadyaya), and if you’re not attached to the outcome but only focusing on the process (ishvara pranidhana), you’re doing yoga
Simple.
But not easy.

This week, think of every pose as having a distinct beginning, middle, and end. In the beginning, observe the quality of your effort. In the middle, notice what happens as a result of your effort. In the end, let go of that activity and start again.
These are the three acts of yoga (II.1 of Patanjali’s Sutras). Does this explicit awareness change your experience?
Homework poses: gomukhasana arms, trikonasana, supta baddha konasana
